European Space Agency
Strategic communications and government relations for a global space agency
Western Australia and Germany
The European Space Agency operates Australia’s only deep-space ground station at New Norcia, north of Perth, supporting missions including BepiColombo, Europe’s mission to Mercury, and ExoMars, the search for life on Mars.
As an international body operating under Australian jurisdiction, ESA’s continued presence depends on active relationships with Federal and State governments, the science community, and the broader Australian public. These relationships determine whether ESA can operate, expand its infrastructure, and make the case for ongoing investment in its Australian base. Clarity has supported that work for more than 20 years, working directly with ESA’s team in Germany across government relations, stakeholder engagement, media strategy and event management.
That remit has covered ESA’s 50th anniversary celebrations in Australia, the launch campaign for its second deep-space antenna, the live broadcast of the JUICE mission lift-off from New Norcia, and the first-stone and inauguration events for the NN03 antenna.
