Good community consultation builds understanding, trust and credibility, particularly for projects that affect people’s lives, neighbourhoods and local environments.
Community Consultation
Clarity designs and delivers community consultation programs that help organisations explain decisions clearly, listen meaningfully and engage respectfully. We focus on creating informed participation and ensuring communities understand not just what is happening, but why.
Our approach supports better outcomes by reducing confusion, managing expectations and helping projects stand up to scrutiny.
What we do
We help organisations to:
- Design consultation programs aligned to project stage, scale and risk.
- Communicate impacts, benefits and trade-offs in clear, plain language.
- Develop accessible materials that support understanding and participation.
- Facilitate engagement that is respectful, inclusive and well-structured.
- Close the loop by showing how feedback has been considered and what happens next.
Our approach
Consultation works best when it is planned, coordinated and transparent.
- Engagement is tailored to the audience, context and regulatory requirements.
- We combine strategy, communication and design to support clarity and consistency.
- The focus is on listening as much as informing, and building trust over time.
Our recent experience includes:
- Working with an offshore energy client to meet NOPSEMA consultation requirements for an Environment Plan, managing and promoting a series of community sessions across northern WA, from Denham to Port Hedland, to ensure transparency and local engagement
- Working with a large local government to develop briefing packs, FAQs, newsletters, displays, digital assets and an animated video explainer to help the community understand the new Local Planning Scheme, its impacts and how to have their say.
- Facilitating focus groups for a large state government agency to understand how communication flowed between office and field teams, providing insights and recommendations to improve the reach, relevance and impact of internal communications across the organisation.
